I build web applications and the platforms that support them. My background spans full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, automation, observability, and technical leadership. I’m currently completing an M.A.Sc. in Software Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland.
June 2026–present
Plan, design, develop, and verify a sensor- and AI-based system intended to reduce firefighters’ cancer risk. Review AI-generated code for correctness, performance, and project requirements.
September–December 2025
Built automation and monitoring systems and contributed backend development to two APIs behind the company’s mobile app.
July 2021–July 2025
Designed platform services that let application developers work without managing the underlying AWS and Docker infrastructure. Architected a WordPress hosting system using ECS, EFS, and RDS, with Terraform, Python, and Jenkins automation.
May 2018–July 2021
Helped enterprise clients modernize cloud infrastructure and delivery. Worked across AWS, Azure, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes; converted legacy virtual machines into containerized workloads and coached client teams.
September 2013–November 2017
Led operations for the digital department after serving as a senior software engineer. Architected the AWS infrastructure for the newspaper’s 2015 web platform and worked to improve reliability, performance, and cost effectiveness.
Earlier experience: DevOps engineering at Spok; development and IT leadership at Group 3 Marketing, where I cut infrastructure costs by 60%; and web and software development roles dating back to 2002.
